What are your TOP TWO priorities when it comes to finances?

Right now mine are paying off our credit cards and building up our savings so we don't ever have to fall back on the credit cards again.

After that, I really want to focus on things like retirement etc, but I don't feel like it's a priority until I take care of the other stuff I mentioned.

1. Making sure we put aside money for all our bills (anything from food, to electricity, WOF on car, insurances etc).

2. Building up our emergency fund again.

Paying off bills and setting us up for me to retire in 7.5 years.
We actually redid our IRA and redid our budget.

- Building a solid downpayment for a new house, we aren't expecting much equity from the sale of our current one due to the market tanking right after we bought it

- Not using credit cards for ANYTHING now that they are finally paid off

We are saving to buy a house when DH gets out of the military in 10 years. Our other current top priority is to pay off my car. I just put down a huge chunk of our tax return on the balance and we're refinancing (literally, like today!) at a much lower rate. I expect to have it paid off within the next year.

Our main thing is to set up an emergency fund and to also put money away for our first house.

1. Pay off those pesky student loans

2. Save a fully funded 6 month emergency fund for living expenses and another for our yearly health insurance deductible.

Great job girls! Everybody sounds like they have a good idea of what they need to do. Now it's just a matter of doing it and sticking to it . . . . . . . . . . .
