I only buy jeans when they are on sale and I try to buy tops/shorts when they are on clearance at the end of the season for the next season. I typically don't spend more than $5 for a top or pair of shorts.
I make sure that we have play clothes that are separate from our church/good clothes. The same for shoes. That way our good stuff stays good.
One thing I have noticed from people IRL as well as online is that often kids have way more clothes than they really need. Spending lots of money on things to be worn only a handful of times is wasteful, IMO.
We average ~$85/month on clothes, including shoes and cold weather gear-coats, snow pants, boots for our family of 5.
Thanks for the information . Do you shop at thrift stores or mainly mall stores? I have never really done the thrift store thing and for my son and seeing how he gets holes in his jeans I don't know that I would find much for him haha. But I have been thinking its a good option.
