Do you keep your money in a joint account or separate accounts?

Eveything is joint. We put his teaching money in a separate account so that he can see what's in there to spend on his hobbies, but I have access to it. He has a separate credit card for that stuff too. I move the money around to pay for stuff as he spends it.

We have a joint account. Have since we got married. I manage all the money. We have a seperate checking account that used to be for my buisness that is now going to be used for his hobbies and I will just pull cash out for mine and put it in an envelope or something. He is planning a big purchase mine is for little things for my crafts. I don't know why I explained all that here .

We have one joint account and I also have a seperate checking account that he doesn't have access to. I don't hide money from him, but he doesn't have the best spending habits and sometimes we put money in my account when we don't want to spend it.

We currently have seperate and it is a PITA. Mainly because I have no idea what is going on in his acct. I never even opened his mail or anything until I sat down to do the budget. No wonder were in debt.. LOL can you say non communication? So we are opening a joint tomorrow =) it will be much easier for me to track everything that way.

both....sort of I am on his personal account and I transfer money in and out of it as needed. He is not on my personal account, though, because I pay bills out of it and the majority of our savings is there as well and he's not had the best track record of being responsible with money He used to be on mine and requested to be taken off We also have a joint account that is part bill account and part spending account.

We have separate accounts. I pretty much tell him what he needs to pay each pay check then he can do what he wants. We will be opening a joint account soon for our son.

Bf and I arent married so we have separate accounts. I have all our monthly living bills coming out of my account. He is not as fiscally minded as I am, so my paying all our important bills keeps me from going crazy. I still have left over to use as I need to. He is only responsible for his own personal expenses.

When we get married, we will continue to have separate accounts.

Once the baby comes, we will have to rewicker things though. He will have to start paying for more, so I will have to contribute to his account to help with those expenses.

We have a joint account but I also have my own checking account and savings account. All the bills are paid out of my account. The joint account is basically dh's money but I have my name on it too so I can transfer money back and forth and stuff. We used to only have a joint account and we had so many money fights. I started my own account and it really ended all the fights. Now I don't have to worry about him causing me to bounce a check and stuff like that. We are both happier this way.

First part: sounds like he's living the easy life

Second part: how is that any different from you paying it?

We used to have a joint account, but right now we have two seperate accounts. But seriously those are just so we can cash checks without being charged. I have never written a check off them, but I do use them to pay for online purchases.
