We are having weird weather all over?
How are you handling the summer?
If you are getting a/c or a pool how are you working it into the budget?
What are you doing to stay cool?
Does your electric bill go up?

How are you handling the summer? Same as any other summer. We range between 110 and 120 between June and August. It's hot, but we stay hydrated, wet, and in air conditioning and you get used to it.

If you are getting a/c or a pool how are you working it into the budget? Neither. We have 2 air conditioning units, one for upstairs, one for down (just the way they build the houses out here). House came with it, but we upgraded, but that was 6 years ago. Don't have a pool, we will either pay the $25K in cash or not get it. Honestly there's other things I'd rather have than a pool and when we're not sure if we want to move or not, not something I want to put in and then lose the money on.

What are you doing to stay cool? Staying inside and keeping the AC at a comfy 77 degrees. Or if we're outside, staying hydrated.

Does your electric bill go up? Haha most definitely! We go from 60 or so degrees during the day in the winter to 120 during the day in the summer. Yeah our electric bill goes up a good $250 in the heat of the summer (that's not the total, just the amount it goes up by from winter to summer). It tends to be around $120 in the wintertime (our house is 100% electric, we don't have gas) and is around $350-$400 in the heat of the summer...typically July is our hottest month. But we're under the average for our size home (3,000 square feet) and that we're 100% electric so can't complain.

DOing ok, turning on the a/c when the humidity and heat get unbearable

If you are getting a/c or a pool how are you working it into the budget?
Gas bill goes down in the summer when the electric goes up, so I budget for the two every month - about $200-250 combined. I like when we have cooler summers w/ little or no a/c

What are you doing to stay cool?
staying in the basement, hydrated, or in a/c

Does your electric bill go up?most definitely, and they just got a rate increase passed too.

We bought a cheap pool to stay cool during the two weeks it gets above 80 here in WA . It was only $45 so it fit into the budget easily.
Our electric bill actually goes down in the summer because we don't have A/C. We don't really need it. Cool the house off at night and close it up during the day it stays in the low to mid 70s.

And this is why I'm not opposed to moving to WA, once DH gets a job out there.

We are having weird weather all over? We are a lot hotter than usual. 108 today

How are you handling the summer? Staying home and indoors

If you are getting a/c or a pool how are you working it into the budget? I know that my A/C is jacking my electricity up. But we turneed off the water heater, running the dryer at night.

What are you doing to stay cool? Taking cool baths during the hottest part of the day.

Does your electric bill go up? Our Electric bill takes half our cash budget but we have been able to cover it,
