What do you do when you forget about an event, trip, expenditure that should have been in the budget but was forgotten?
I don't mean the ones that pop up like your porch just caved in. I mean like a wedding, shower, road trip that you knew was coming and you just forgot to budget for it.

Our budget is fairly flexible, so we pay for it and just put less in savings that month.

Yeah we just pay it and then move on to next month and have less in savings than we hoped. It stinks sometimes but hey it happens.

To be honest, I've never had this happen. I mark EVERYTHING on my calendar when we're going to do something so when I do my budget each month I go through my calendar to see if we have anything going. I've never had anything come up that I forgot about.

They aren't in the budget because we cannot afford them.

I really try to plan for them. Often it means paying off less on a CC bill one month than I hoped.
