What is the most important thing for you to use your money on?
Example if you had to pick between rent and car payment.
So what is the number one thing you always pay for bill or otherwise no matter how much comes in?
What is the first bill you lets slide?

The most important thing to use our money on is bills, especially the higher bills - mortgage, car, cc.

I always pay the mortgage, even if it meant choosing between car and mortgage. I think the mortgage can cause bigger issues on my credit rating than the car.

I'll let hospital bills slide - or more correctly, pay even less on them than normal. Same would be true of the couple 12 month free financing stuff we have - pay the minimum, or less than what I've budgeted.

All the bills have always been paid. We've never let a bill slide before.

If push came to shove though, the first thing I would pay would be the mortgage.

What is the most important thing for you to use your money on? Essentials...shelter, food, utilities, etc.

Example if you had to pick between rent and car payment. We've never lived over our means so we've never had to choose between this and now we do not have a car payment, but if it were between the two I'd pay the mortgage.

So what is the number one thing you always pay for bill or otherwise no matter how much comes in? We always pay everything that we're obligated to pay. We've always made it a point to not live above our means, so if the bill comes in and we owe it then we pay it.

What is the first bill you lets slide? Nothing. We made a committment to pay our bills and we do and always have.

What is the most important thing for you to use your money on? In all honesty Cigarettes. It is the only thing we would raid the kids piggy banks to buy. Or honestly sell my first born child for... can you say addiction?

So what is the number one thing you always pay for bill or otherwise no matter how much comes in? Our electric bill. It is also our biggest expense.

What is the first bill you lets slide? I can live with pout phone and internet, not happily but better than without electricity.

I always pay the mortgage and car payments.

I try to pay all hte bill son time but I will let a medical one slide a little but not without calling and letting them know and asking if we can delay the due date.

i am trying to rebuild my credit so that doesn't always help

I don't let bills slide. The bills are always paid first. You can absolutely control how much money you pay for other things-- food, clothing, entertainment. So even when money was super tight, all the bills were paid and the rest of the spending was cut. And it doesn't hurt to have an emergency fund to fall back on.

But if it came down to it, the mortgage is the most important bill so that'd be taken care of first.

I have the same mentality as Mommie2One. We live within our means and in all honesty I would beg/borrow from family members before I didnt pay a bill.

In terms of bills, mortgage comes first, the power/water. Cell/cable bills ... i would cancel the services if I had to chose which bills we were paying in a month.
