I know the holidays can be a very difficult time for all of us, so I wanted to check in and see how everyone is doing. Check in and tell us how you are and what you have going on now.

I had been doing a lot better, but now... Kind of down again. My Great-Grandma passed away on September 30th and then I had another miscarriage on November 1. Everything quickly started going downhill again. I am emotionally drained. I spend a good amount of time crying. It's not daily, but it is a few times a week usually. Part of it is the upcoming holidays. Going to Grandma's was a HUGE deal in our family at Christmas. 100+ people passed through her house on Christmas Day every year. A very close knit extended family, and now.... well, I guess that time is over. And of course, we are coming up on the 3 year anniversary of my Dad's death. And we just passed his birthday too. October - January is so difficult for me each year. I wish I could just hibernate!

Crappy! This year I just want to say "merry Christmas dad" and he's not here.

It's not fair that any of us have to deal with this.

I was at work today (I'm a cashier at a grocery store) and my customer was a lady in her 70's helping her mom who is in her 90's shop for supplies for their upcoming Christmas dinner. Two thoughts washed over me at the exact same moment. One was a warm feeling and thinking how sweet the whole scene was and the other was extreme jealousy that just made me want to scream "NOT FAIR NOT FAIR NOT FAIR!!!) I'm not even 30 yet! I still need my Daddy! I don't understand why he had to be taken so soon.

I have to admit that the antidepressants have really upped my mood and taken the edge off. I miss my mom, it'll be three years in Feb that she died. The boys' adoption went through last Friday, I really wish she were here to celebrate with us, she would have loved that. I really miss my dad, too--he's been gone 15 years, but I was much closer to my mom. This will be my third Christmas ever without her. I wish she was here.

I'm sorry for your losses, Steph.
