Please answer these questions to help me judge how I can best improve this board and make it a place of solace and comfort.

1. How recently have you lost a parent?

2. Would you like to see inspirational quotes and prayers written for those mourning and experiencing grief here?

3. Would you like to see regular uplifting/cathartic posts (eg Monday Memories, Wednesday Woe) here?

4. Would you like to see posts honouring anniversaries and milestones here?

5. Do you simply want to come here to share your story and talk to others in the same position?

6. Would you like people who have already been through this to be around for you to talk to?

7. (At a later stage if you have only just had a loss) Would you consider checking in fortnightly or monthly to help out by offering condolences, sympathy and advice to people who have just been through this?

8. Would posts about practical matters (what to do after a death, how to organise funerals, financial aspects, probate etc) be helpful or would you prefer this board to be more about emotional support?

Do feel free to mention anything else particular to you as well.

1. How recently have you lost a parent? My Dad passed away in November 2010.

2. Would you like to see inspirational quotes and prayers written for those mourning and experiencing grief here? Yes, I think they're nice to read and make me reflect on my Dad.

3. Would you like to see regular uplifting/cathartic posts (eg Monday Memories, Wednesday Woe) here? They would be nice.

4. Would you like to see posts honouring anniversaries and milestones here? I think I'm somewhat ambivalent on this...they're nice, but not a necessity for me.

5. Do you simply want to come here to share your story and talk to others in the same position? Sometimes

6. Would you like people who have already been through this to be around for you to talk to? It is nice to have and I'm willing to try and be here for others.

7. (At a later stage if you have only just had a loss) Would you consider checking in fortnightly or monthly to help out by offering condolences, sympathy and advice to people who have just been through this? I keep this board open and am always looking to see if there are new posts and try to respond when I feel that I can, so yes.

8. Would posts about practical matters (what to do after a death, how to organise funerals, financial aspects, probate etc) be helpful or would you prefer this board to be more about emotional support? I think that they would be appropriate, but I have no experience with that side of death.

Do feel free to mention anything else particular to you as well.
I'm grateful that this board is here and very happy to see that we have a host now. Thank you for doing this.

Thanks for your thoughts. I'll post something up about milestones and anniversaries. There was something stickied but there were probably a great many entries on it where people aren't around anymore so I thought it would be good to start anew.
