My son has been on vyvanse (20 mg) for a month, we have not seen a change at all in him. How long does it generally take to set in? We don't see the ADHD specialist until January. My biggest worry is he's still picking at his skin. I don't know whether to call, wait, or get a second opinion? I'm kinda at a loss and frustrated. I'm away for almost a month I've got maybe a 2 min. word dump and an I love you every 3 days.
I know with me, I have ADHD and I am on meds, I notice a big difference within a week, and most of the time it is pretty much instant. I have not tried Vyvanse though so I have no experience with how long that med takes to set in, but would think that if you aren't noticing anything by now, chances are they are going to want to up the dose. Your best bet is to call the doctor and see what they want you to do.
my son started on vyvance 20mg and i noticed a huge difference in about a week
he has now been on vyvance 30mg for about 6/7months and even tho its not lasting as long i still havent got to the point where i need to up his meds.
the doctor said i can keep him on the 30mg then add another pill ( different name cant remember what she said ) about 5pm to last the night but i may do that at his next doctors appt in 3 months.
my son is more ADD with a mild case of ADHD his issue is not focusing at school so as long as homework is getting done right after school i can handle him after that
