Welcome Cathy!! I think its great that your doctor was willing to try and see if meds would help her. Your daughter sounds alot like I was when I was younger (I have ADHD) so I think its a good thing that you noticed the signs now when she is still young and before her inattentive/hyperness was able to cause any lasting problems (like being in grade school and automatically being labeled the naughty kid, it sticks with you for a while).
I'm Linda, mommy to Alexzander (almost 7), Katie (6), and Aiden (3). Alexzander has autism, SPD and ADHD. Katie has pFAS and will eventually carry an ADHD diagnosis even though it pretty much goes along with the diagnosis she has now. And I have no doubt that Aiden too will be diagnosed with pFAS and ADHD when he is a bit older due to their mothers inability to remain sober while she carried them. I take adderall but my children are not on meds (up to this point we were able to control their symptoms with sensory input, but its not working to well on my daughter any more so I think its time to go in).
