My name is Cathy and my daughter is Breana who is 4. I just had her evaluated for ADHD last night. The doctor didn't rule it out but we are on a trial run of medicine to see if it helps.

I am going to call the insurance company and see what they pay for a child psycologist.

I have never had to deal with this before.

She is just super hyber and cannot sit stand or even play still for long. THe only thing that she will sit still and play is her leap pad.

She has a poor concentration in preschool. She is good with one on one attention but as soon as there is a group she just can't sit still and not touch or talk to the person next to her.

I just want to get her the help that she needs and see if I need to hold her back another year before enrolling her in Kindergarten.

Look forward to getting to know you ladies and get some great advice!!

Welcome Cathy!! I think its great that your doctor was willing to try and see if meds would help her. Your daughter sounds alot like I was when I was younger (I have ADHD) so I think its a good thing that you noticed the signs now when she is still young and before her inattentive/hyperness was able to cause any lasting problems (like being in grade school and automatically being labeled the naughty kid, it sticks with you for a while).
I'm Linda, mommy to Alexzander (almost 7), Katie (6), and Aiden (3). Alexzander has autism, SPD and ADHD. Katie has pFAS and will eventually carry an ADHD diagnosis even though it pretty much goes along with the diagnosis she has now. And I have no doubt that Aiden too will be diagnosed with pFAS and ADHD when he is a bit older due to their mothers inability to remain sober while she carried them. I take adderall but my children are not on meds (up to this point we were able to control their symptoms with sensory input, but its not working to well on my daughter any more so I think its time to go in).

Hi Cathy

I am Laura, mommy to Rohan (10) and Aliyah (5). Rohan is ADHD, and has TLE and SID/SPD. He is medicated for 2 of the 3 conditions and has had OT to aid with the SID.

OT was very successful with Rohan.

GL and look forward to hearing from you again soon.

You may want to consider dietary changes. They can make a substantial difference.
