Hi there,

I am new to this forum, and in need of some advice, and words of wisdom about my situation.

My son just turned 13 two weeks ago, and resides with his father. He has been on ADHD medication since he was about 6 years old. In the past, for the most part, my son's dad had been sending his medication during his visits with my husband and I. On the occasion that his dad forgot, my son would go without his medication for the period of time that I had him. Recently, my son's dad has began not sending his medication for any visits at all, and I am unable to get any through the ER here in my town, and his home family doctor, will not provide me with a prescription for the days that I have my son in my care.

Any advice?

Thank You!

The only advice I would have for you is to get in touch with social services. I am pretty sure the fathers unwillingness to provide the medication that is prescribed to your son during your visits is considered child neglect (or something similar) but I am not positive. I wish you the best, its not a great situation when the other parent isn't willing to work together with you.

I'd go back to family court, if he's not sending along the proper medication with your son for his visitation that might be considered not fully complying with the order and then he'd be in contempt.
