Hi girls ... I have another question for you

Early this morning I started having some pretty severe cramping - like horrible period cramps. My bleeding also picked up significantly. I saw the post where the new mommy was asking about bleeding picking up, and that seems exactly what happened to me. In addition, I have this really bad cramping .. did anyone have that? I called the nurse and of course she told me when to go the ER< but she seemed concerned that the cramping picked up significantly 3 weeks after surgery. I'm just in a good amount of pain

Sorry that I'm not more help. I didn't have that. It's your body and you know you best so if you are concerned, don't ignore it. I would ask to be seen by your ob and if they can't fit you in then you could go to the ER. I hope it goes away.

I agree with the previous post. I'd try to be seen at your OB, and if they won't I'd probably go to the ER. Better safe than sorry in a situation like this. I had some cramping, but my OB just said it was my uterus going back to it's normal size. But I definitly wouldn't say it was a lot of pain. Hope you feel better soon and get an answer!

I'm sorry about all the cramping and increased bleeding. I'd definitely be making an appointment with your physician, and like the previous poster mentioned, if they can't get you in right away, go to the emergency room.

Keep us updated!

Thanks for the replies girls!!

I ended up going to the ER about 7 pm last night and thank God I did!!! They spent over 15 minutes pulling blood clots out of me just to be able to see my cervix, which when they were able to see it I was very dilated! They did an u/s and couldn't see anything but tons of blood in my uterus. The ER doc who pulled all the clots out of me said it was alot worse then he anticipated and he was going to call my OB. After they were able to clear the clots, they sent me back for another u/s and it was alot better. I still have some blood in my uterus, but it was alot less and my cervix had closed by then.
They told me to plan for a D&C last night, but luckily that didn't happen as they were able to pull out most of the clots manually .... that was not a fun procedure!!

I guess the final ruling was that my uterus just stopped contracting completely before it was back to it's normal size. Because of that, I had built up all of this blood inside and finally my body was just trying to expel it and I began to dilate significantly. The pain was unbelievable. I should have gone to the ER right from the start!!

I'm feeling much better now .. they sent me home on meds to make my uterus contract, pain meds and antibiotics for a bladder infection they just happen to find

Wow! I'm glad you went to the ER. I can imagine the pain being bad. I pass a clot every month from the build up on vertical scar, and it just about sends me to my knees everytime because it's so painful. I couldn't imagine it over and over again.
