Hi ladies! I was here a couple of weeks back looking for some answers and what to expect when my little man Jack was breech. Well despite him flipping he was born via emergency c-section on the 17th.

I am recovering really well, havent been on pain meds, and feel generally really great (besides being super emotional but what PP mom isnt?!)

I have a couple of questions though. I am super swollen especially in my feet and it gets worse at night or if I have been on my feet. I have been drinking tons and tons of water not only for my milk supply but also to try and get rid of this swelling.

When can I expect to see my ankles again? LOL!

I'm not much help, I don't remember my feet swelling afterwards. But I'm sure someone here will be able to give you some advice.

My feet were literally BALLOONS after surgery! I could barely walk. I honest-to-goodness thought they were going to bust open and start oozing. When my feet were flat on the floor, my toes didn't touch the floor because my feet were so round. It was super gross. It took about 2 weeks for the swelling to finally go down. Something I know now that I didn't know then... eat sugary snacks or drink juice (assuming you're not diabetic, of course). Sugar puts your kidneys into overdrive and you'll lose the water faster than with water alone. I guess you already know to avoid things like coke. The sodium and caffeine will just make it worse. Water and juice are best.

My feet swelled badly after my first also - the one thing that really helped was to keep them elevated whenever I was sitting. Even at night I would prop a couple of pillows under them to keep them elevated some. It still took a couple of weeks for the swelling to go away though.

My legs/feet were kind of swollen after mine too. I slept/sat with my feet propped and drank tons of water. I hope they shrink back to size for you soon!

I didn't really experience any swelling. I do remember that for the first 24 hours after my c-section, my face was puffy, but that was from all of the IV fluids.... it went away as soon as they stopped the IV. Good luck, hun! I hope it goes away soon!

Congrats on the birth of your baby boy!!! I was a bit puffy but not as bad probably. I didn't have any real issues with it. I'm glad that there are other women who were able to offer you advice.

Oh, bless your heart! After seeing those pics from HappyHomemaker....ouch! I'm so glad this isn't an issue I had after my 1st!

I'm glad you're recovering well and I hope your ankles make a reappearance soon!

Hugs to you! I remember the swelling after my second son was born. I think my legs/ankles/feet were more normal after a week or so. Hope the swelling goes down very soon!
