My first was kind of an emergency. My labor stalled, so they decided to do a cesarean. The second was more like a lack of options. The hospital here does not allow VBACs, so I couldn't have one.

I feel like this is missing a category. Just not sure what it would be. With my first, I had a c-section after 14 hours of labor b/c I wasn't dilating. That is when the doc learned my uterus is misshapen and the baby couldn't get in the proper position to deliver. With my twins, I had an emergency c-section. With this one I am not being given a choice and will have a c-section at 39 weeks if I make it that far.

My daughter was breech so we had planned a c-section. Before we could schedule a date for it my water broke at 36 weeks so she was born via c-section several hours later.

I had an elective 1st c section but really it wasn't elective, that was the closest choice. After baby #2 (vaginal) I had a fourth degree tear which caused a RVF (recto-vaginal-fistula) which required surgery. So the c section of baby #3 and the one I'll be having for baby #4 is to prevent it from opening up again and requiring more survery.
