Planned repeats with the last 3. My first was not scheduled, nor was it an emergency. I labored with him.

My first was an elective section (well elective in the fact that my doctor told me I needed one and it was scheduled) and my next one will be an elective repeat.

"Elective 1st cesarean" we chose to do it because we didn't like the odds of a 50/50% success rate of a version, and one of my 3 OB's told me not to because I had too much fluid to feel her properly externally(part of the issue with having GD is too much fluid). We tried home remedies but none worked and we felt it was safer to do the c-section then try to turn her and have one or both of us die or badly injured.
(my first child was a vaginal delivery after a 25hr induction for GD and PIH, and a vacuum extraction)

My first c/s was definitely unplanned, but I wouldn't really call it an emergency. My later two c/s were definitely emergency. They would have been planned, but ended up needing them much earlier than anticipated. I am kind of glad too. I know that I would have gotten myself worked up and scared thinking about them.

My first wasn't exactly an emergency, but it wasn't planned either. My next c-sections were elective after that. I had no desire to go for a vbac after the awful labor/delivery experience I had with my first!

My first son was a vag.
Second son was emerg. c section and my third & 4th babies were elective repeat.
In Canada, you're not allowed to choose c section for no reason unless you've had an emerg. section, you're given the option of a VBAC (for those who are allowed) or a repeat.

My first 2 were vaginal deliveries. Baby #3 was an emergency c section due to complications from him having Williams Syndrome. I don't know any drs who will allow me to have a vbac, so I don't consider the one I will have this time to be elective. I wouldn't choose to have major abdominal surgery, but I have no choice.

I marked emergency c/s. But it was more mandatory than emergency.
