Hi. I've never posted here, but I have had two c-sections now. I don't remember my first recovery very well (2006), so I don't remember how long I was having pain internally.

I had a c-section on May 10, so it has been 5 weeks now. My outer incision seems to be healing very well, but I'm still having considerable pain internally. Is that normal? I can get around alright, but it still hurts.

I too really didn't remember the pain from my first in 2007. I do know that I used up my prescription of percocet. LOL

This time around...Feb '11, the pain was completely tolerable for me and I only took the Motrin that I was prescribed. I did have pain...but nothing that wasn't tolerable. I will add that I have a pretty high pain tolerance. I'd say the worst of it was over in just about 2 weeks. I'd say 5 weeks is pretty normal. I hear a lot of women say it takes them at least 6 weeks to start feeling better. If you have any concerns though...I'd call your doc. Better to be safe.

Thanks. I am actually at the doctor's office right now because I have also had some aches and low fever. I don't know if it is related, but we will see. I hope it's not related.

ETA: Not related. I might jus have a virus, but there is no sign of infection. I was worried.

My more intense pain lasted probably 3 weeks or so. I had lingering pain though for at about 6 weeks.

I'd honestly say the worst of my pain was over in at most two weeks. The last pain to go away was actually when I rolled over in bed or when I laughed really hard. I bought one of those belly bands though and wore it at night time...and it helped with the pain A LOT. When I would roll over at night, I'd almost feel like my insides were ripping apart (best way I can describe it) and the belly band made it completely go away.
