Hi. I've never posted here, but I have had two c-sections now. I don't remember my first recovery very well (2006), so I don't remember how long I was having pain internally.
I had a c-section on May 10, so it has been 5 weeks now. My outer incision seems to be healing very well, but I'm still having considerable pain internally. Is that normal? I can get around alright, but it still hurts.
I too really didn't remember the pain from my first in 2007. I do know that I used up my prescription of percocet. LOL
This time around...Feb '11, the pain was completely tolerable for me and I only took the Motrin that I was prescribed. I did have pain...but nothing that wasn't tolerable. I will add that I have a pretty high pain tolerance. I'd say the worst of it was over in just about 2 weeks. I'd say 5 weeks is pretty normal. I hear a lot of women say it takes them at least 6 weeks to start feeling better. If you have any concerns though...I'd call your doc. Better to be safe.
I'd honestly say the worst of my pain was over in at most two weeks. The last pain to go away was actually when I rolled over in bed or when I laughed really hard. I bought one of those belly bands though and wore it at night time...and it helped with the pain A LOT. When I would roll over at night, I'd almost feel like my insides were ripping apart (best way I can describe it) and the belly band made it completely go away.
