I am not new to JM, I am from the December Due Date Club ! I am new to this area tho . . . My name is Sarah I am 27 me and my Husband are expecting our first baby due December 10th.
I have to have a Csection and i am sooo worried about it. I have a fake hip & complications with the recall of the hip, so therefore its in my best interests to not try to have a vaginal birth. Anyway, i dont always see such supportive posts about c-sections, so i was hoping to chat here from time to time ! Also maybe someone here has given birth with a fake hip ?
Happily married to the love of my life, mom of two beautiful babies, Gary & Adalyn
Welcome!! I hope your pregnancy is going well! My name is Monica and DH and I had our first last November. (I was a member of the Dec 2010 DDC b/c my due date was December 4). I wound up having Tommy by scheduled c-section 2 1/2 weeks early because he was breech and I was having low fluid issues. I found one of the most helpful things for me was to read as much as I could about the procedure and the recovery. It really eased my mind and made the whole process go smoothly. Best wishes for a smooth pregnancy! I think you'll find that this group is really supportive.
Congratulations! It's good to have you. There is a really great group of ladies here who are very supportive.
I understand your worries...and the negative posts about c/s's don't help the situation.
I had to have an emergency c/s with my first daughter. She was completely wrapped in her cord and was not coming down the birth canal on her own. Additionally....her heartbeat continued dropping with each contraction. After 16 hours of labor we decided to proceed with a c/s. Although it was classified an emergency...the entire procedure went very smoothly and was a very positive experience for us. Recovery was a little painful...but I found getting up and moving around to really help. I walked as much as I could, and never sat around feeling sorry for myself.
Our experience was so great the first time around, that I opted for a repeat c/s with our 2nd daughter. She was born in February of this year. I also wanted to have a tubal done after delivery. The 'planned' and scheduled c/s....was incredible. Not only was it nice to 'know' what to expect, but it was just so relaxed and enjoyable. Recovery with my 2nd was easy, easy, easy! So much so that I never even needed my pain meds. Now....don't get me wrong, there is definitely some pain and discomfort, but nothing so bad that I needed percocet for. I rode out the pain on the Motrin prescribed and walking, walking, walking. I felt just about 100% at 2 week pp.
This board is a little slow....but it seems to be monitored well. In that if you post...you'll get an answer or reply pretty quickly. I check in nightly and will be more than willing to answer any questions you might have.
Hi, I had my scheduled C-section last August with my first. I had a really good experience and would have another C-section. I don't have a fake hip but I am also happy to answer any questions you have.
