i had my first baby vaginally but my second baby ended up being a section after a very long labor, now my ob wants me to have a repeat and not try for a vbac which at first i tried to fight it but i'm now at the point thinking i just might have to accept it the only thing i'm having a very hard time accepting is

1) he wants to schedule it on my first baby's birthday but my son passed away at 2 months old so i'm having alot of anxiety on that issue and he not budging on that date

2) dh is not allowed in the room and i have to be put to sleep

3) hospital policy baby is not allowed to room with you and the first 24 hours your not allowed to bf and at night they feed the baby in the nursery

i honestly think that is why bf was never succesful with me because of nipple confusion and all their protocols i seriously felt like i was not my baby's mom the first week of his life once i went home and got in a routine things got better but they took away all my responsibility just so i can rest cause i had surgery but if you deliver vag at this hospital the baby is allowed to room with you and you can bf all you want

Honestly, if none of those reasons are medically necessary and your doctor still won't budge I would be looking for a new doctor and hospital! HUGS!! You shouldn't feel forced to do any of those things just to have a c/s if they make you uncomfortable!

I agree with Kelli. Can you change drs and hospitals? I know Canada has a much different health system then the US does.

Does he know why you don't want your c/s scheduled for that day? Is there a reason he wants to put you out for it? Thats BS that they won't let you bf your baby for 24 hrs.

Those are BIG issues and I would have a hard time excepting them too. **HUGS**

the next nearest hospital is 3 hours away and yes he knows what that day means to me he's been my ob for years and he won't budge on the date because that's his schedule and i'll be 38 weeks he doesn't do repeats before or after 38 weeks and he wants to use a general caue last time they tried the spinal and failed so it would just be easier to do the general

That all seems so crazy. My OB refuses to schedule before 39 weeks unless it is absolutely medically necessary. Just because the spinal failed last time does't mean it always will. I am shocked. I would have a very hard time with all the restrictions they are placing on you. I hope you are able to figure out a way around all of that.
