I am not pregnant but due to having about 1/4 of my uterus removed (from cornual preg) I was told be my doctor that I could not have contractions or my uterus will most likely burst. (though the complete risk can not be assessed until Im pregnant and see how my uterus handles stretching, but I will have to have c-section by 36 weeks)
I am very scared by this as my local hospital will not take births before 36 weeks Ill have to go to a hospital about an 1 1/2 away. If I start labor early I dont know what will happen.
But my question was have any of you had a c-section 36 weeks or early was baby okay? Did they have to stay in the nicu for a long time. Also did any of you have to be air lifted for an emergency c/section?
I had an elective c-section at 38+1. My son had respiratory distress. The outcome, well... You can see it in my signature.
This time around I will need another c-s for medical reasons, whenever labor starts, or by 39w if it hasn't started. Even that scares me.
All I can recomend you is: go to the hospital further away, if it is better prepared for small babies. If you can't go over 36w that's fine, but have the best structure possible, even if it means being further from home.
I am moving from my country, away from my familly, at 18w, so I'll be close to a Nicu 4.
You have the "heads up" I never did.... Make the most of it!
