I've been recovering pretty well from my c-section. No pain at the incision area. But, yesterday and today I have had really bad burning feeling in my lower left stomach area. It feels like I'm literally on fire. It hurts really bad.

I called my OB and I'm coming in tomorrow for them to check me. They asked if my incision area is red or has puss - sign of infection. I said I didn't know, but would have DH check. He checked and there are a few spots that are a bit red, but he said it wasn't anything that looked like infection to him.

I was supposed to go in Thursday to get my staples out, but now I'll be getting them out tomorrow when they check me.

Just wondering if anyone else had a burning feeling. I'm wondering if maybe I overdid something in the past day or if I'm finally feeling the effects of the c-section.

Thanks for your advice.

It could be caused by several things... nerves growing back together, reaction to the bandages, infection. It's 'probably' nothing, but it's good that you're getting it checked out anyway. Let us know what the doc says!

I had a severe burning sensation from my incision up to my belly button (it didn't involve the actual incision line). It felt like I had a severe sunburn and I couldn't stand for my clothes to rub me. It's been a little over a month since my c-section and it's finally getting better. My OB said it was from the nerves growing back together (or whatever they do). He said some people have numbness on their abdomen while others can have a burning sensation.

Better to get it checked to be on the safe side, though.

My OB said that the burning could be my stomach muscles being pulled from doing too much. They asked me if I thought I was doing a lot, and I said no. I'm more mobile everyday, but I'm not lifting heavy items or doing any housework or anything.

So, I'm not sure how I can do less.

I got my staples out and it wasn't painful at all. My incision looks fine but is a little moist. I was told to put a pad over the incision to help keep it dry.
