Were you on a special diet after your surgery, or were you able to eat whatever you wanted?
I was starving! I had to live off chicken broth, juice and jello for the first day... well actually, until I was able to pass gas (sorry TMI ). I wanted to eat real food so bad... so I lied after the first day so I could eat something else.

Same. I hadn't eaten 12 hours before my surgery, and didn't eat until 24 hours after. I was absolutely starving. I wasn't supposed to eat anything until after I passed gas so I just told them that I did because I was about to pass out from hunger.

Same with me about the gas, but oh did I ever have gas no problem there for me.
I had Rylynn at 9:46pm on tueday and I was able to eat around 2pm on Wed. I keep it really light though because I didn't want to get sick. It had been almost 48 hr since I had food. LONG STORY! I was suppose to be induced 12 hr before I actually was.

I wasn't allowed to eat until I passed gas either, just some jello and broth. I had so much trouble passing gas that by the 2nd day, they nurse told me she was going to give me a supository to pass the gas. The gas was lodged up into my shoulder and I was in so much pain! So, I guess on midnight on my 3rd day I was allowed to eat something. Since I missed dinner, I had my hubby go get me McDonald's!

I was allowed only liquids and jello for the first 36 hours no matter if I passed gas or not. I guess they were used to people lying about it. LOL! I didn't realize that clear liquids didn't include sprite! Oops! Uhh.... Ouch! More gaaaaaaaaaas! If you haven't had your c/s yet and are reading this ... DON'T DRINK CARBONATED DRINKS! I was later told that I wasn't supposed to have carbonated drinks for at least a week, but better yet, 2 weeks.
Anyway... sorry to go a bit o/t there. I was absolutely starving out of my mind! I kept calling and ordering more and more food. They quit bringing it because they thought I was giving it to guests.

I puked up before my c/s and had nothing to eat after the c/s (5.00pm) until the next morning when all I got was cream of wheat and various fluid like foods. That whole day I ate that stuff, but the next day I ate normal foods. I was starving!

I was on a liquid diet until I was able to pass gas, which was on the 3rd day of my hospital stay- and I was starving by the time that day rolled around lol.

I had my c-section at 11am and was allowed liquid diet at 5pm. The next morning they sent me a huge tray with a ton of food! I was so happy because I was induced, so I hadn't eaten in over 48 hours. I was so hungry!

After my c-section, I got sick and was throwing up green liquid...yummie!
So, I could not eat or drink for a week. That was so bad. I was dreaming about food.
One night, a nurse had pity on me. I told her how much I wanted a piece of bread with butter and she brought it to me.

For both of mine I was able to drink in recovery and eat as soon as I was out of recovery.

My Dr. said that I could eat after the c-section. However the hospital didn't order me a meal. So I demanded some crackers or something or I was going to puke all over.
I could have anything to eat 12 hours before and cs was at 1 pm. So it was almost 24 hours with out anything in my stomach no food no water by the time I demanded crackers. I chewed suger free gum though. Dr said that was ok but I had to spit it out when I went in to surgery.

It took me almost 2 full days to pass enough gas so that I could eat like a human again

I ate a little bit during labor, before it got too bad, but after my c/s I was on clear liquid diet for 24 hours. The morning after my c/s was my first meal, and for lunch the day after that I was allowed real food.
