He wants to know how long we will have to wait after the c/s to be able to resume DTD. Since we have been on pelvic rest from the beginning, he is quite anxious about it & honestly, so am I.

As soon as your comfortable really......I think Dr.s recommend the full 6 weeks. We waited 3 weeks after Faith and 4 after Emmy.

Because you are having a c-section and not a vaginal birth I have always been told to wait about 4 weeks, or when the bleeding stops and I feel up to it.
I usually DTD around the 4 week mark, taking it easy and missionary seemed to be the most comfortable for me.

I bled for quite a while so we did not DTD for 8 weeks after the section. I was told to wait 6 weeks though.

I dont have much bleeding going on either. I actually hardly bled. Hmmm...but we havent DTD yet. Im kinda anxious about it, and nervous all at the same time, since we dont use protection.

We were told 6 weeks and we did wait that long. I bled for almost that long. But if it doesn't hurt then I would say whenever you are comfortable is probably ok. I would probably wait at least 2 weeks though.

I was told a full 6 weeks. I wanted to DTD so bad after my c-section, but I wanted to make sure everything was okay, so we waited until I saw my doctor at my checkup and got the okay

Usually you have to wait until your 6weeks PP check up. Then you can resume. Now if you are having painful pelvic issues they may not be resolved before then so don't have your hopes up too high. But if your bed rest is more precautionary then you should be ok. I've heard people DTD as early as 4 days pp. But with triplets, I don't know how much energy you will have

I waited three weeks. My m/w told me to wait as close to six weeks as i could, but that the risk of infection wasn't *that* high, due to having a c/s. I told her after we'd DTD & she said it was fine, so long as I felt comfortable etc

With my first c-section I had to have a ob-gyn specialist who dealt with high level pregnancies because we knew my son was going to be born with his internal organs outside of the body. After I had the baby she said I could resume dtd as soon as I felt ready. No specific time of waiting was needed. Although, I did ask her to tell me six weeks in front of my husband because I knew there would be pressure and she did. LOL. She was all about making me happy as she knew I was going through enough other emotions.

I waited 6 weeks after my section to DTD. It hurt a lot which surprised me since Drew didn't come out that way.

Thank you all for the advice! I'm not sure when I will feel up to it. I've been on bedrest b/c of cervical incompetence & no other reason. I know we have waiting 35 weeks as is so another few weeks isn't going to kill us. I can hang in there!

i was told the 6 weeks as well, I think we fooled around a little after a few weeks, dtd hurt for a while so we'd try and when it would hurt we'd just fool around.
