Whatever professional brand I can find at Winners that is under $10. I have used Redken, Rusk, and bain de terre.

Mostly John Frieda, Brilliant Brunette. If I'm having cash flow problems sometimes I revert to Loreal Elvive for a bit. I'm a bit fussy about shampoo because I have greasy hair if I use cheap ones.

Matrix Sleek Look for when I want it straight and Matrix Curl Life for when I want my wave to pop. I have used non salon brand shampoos in the past, but they just don't do the same for my hair that my professional products do. Plus, being a hairstylist, it always helps to use the products that you recommend to others.

I use Herbal Essence either for color or for curly. Depends. Right now I use curly shampoo and color conditioner.

Joico K Pak Color Treated Shampoo and Conditioner, and sometimes to switch it up I will use either Redken All Soft or Infusium 23 frizologie. I bought ten bottles of that stuff when they were discontinuing the formula I liked.
I luck out too getting a student discount at both pro stores and at the school's salon.
