What age do you think is about right to start letting young girls wear make up?

Do you agree with childrenís beauty pageants?

1. I think that all little girls lvoe to play with make up like Mommy, I think thats fine provided they don't go out in it etc until around 13-15 varying with a girls maturity level.

2. I actually really don'y agree with kiddo beauty pagaents... it just all seems a bit odd to me

Emma is almost 4 now and has never had any more than a teeny bit of 'mummys lickstick' She got this little disney necklace thing today and it opens and has glitter lipgloss in it I think she's almost at the age where she will want to start playing with it... and of course she sees me wearing it every day without fail so she's going to want to even more. I hate the idea of it but hey ho. I think as far as 'properly' wearing it and going out in it... I'll cross that bridge when we get to it, I think 12/13 maybe, but not a face full! And I will make sure she does it properly!!

2. I actually have no problem with the "natural" pageants... its the glitz pageants that I think are disgusting.

Yeah there are pageants that dont allow fake hair, fake tans, fake eyelashes... etc... they are just based on the natural beauty and personality of the child, and their main focus is to make the children look age appropriate... I dont really have a problem with those...

The ones most people think of when they hear child beauty pageants are "glitz" pageants and those are the ones with fake everything and rhinestones all over.

Personally not until they are a teen and then gradually introducing different items... not all at once...

and I think if they WANT to then go for it but as soon as it's not fun for them then it's time to stop!
