Not a real original title, I know. Sorry about that.
My stylist of 3 years has recently moved from being in a salon to doing hair from her house. My question is this, do I still tip her or does the fact that the whole of what I'm paying for the haircut is going to her negate the need to tip? I'm not sure the protocol for this. Please help!
It actually depends. If your stylist is charging similar to the salon price, then yes you should probably tip what you normally would. If she is charging more than what the salon did, I would say no. Of course it is all dependent upon your stylist.
That's actually a reasonable price. That's such an in between price you could get away with tipping or not. That's actually the going rate for most of the salons in my area these days. But I know back home $10-$13 was the normal. So just do whatever is most comfortable to you.
