Hi! I am currently NOT trying to conceive but figured you ladies might be able to help me. My daughter Leila is 5 months old and we nurse on demand round the clock. Ol' AF has visited now twice(start 3-22 and 4-26 both normal AF). During the 4-26 AF visit(TMI, I know ) my boyfriend and I DTD unprotected several times. Why, I do not know...

Anyway over the last week or so I have noticed my breasts are darker(weird because I am still BF)and I am sooooo unbelievably moody. So I suppose what I am trying to ask you is if you think it is possible that I O'ed during my AF? I don't want to go waste a test until I miss or am late and anyway I have never had a HPT come back positive.

So is it possible that I ovulated during AF? TIA!

Though it is unlikely that you ovulated during AF, IT IS POSSIBLE. That's why when going by Billings O method, they recommend that you abstain or use protective measures even during your period if you're TTA. Some women can O very early in their cycle, and if you have AF you're unable to see the usual fertile signs i.e. EW CM and cervical position. I myself have never, I usually O late in my cycle, but my friend swears she got pg when having sex during her period. Best wishes to you either way!

nursing on demand can also make your cycle crazy, I had a normal cycle (28 days) and then a 75 day cycle. and now I'm on day 34 and no period. good luck!

eta:
in TCOYF it says that it is impossible to get pg during your period but its possible to get pg from intercourse during your period since the sperm can live up for five days

Ugh. Not exactly the news I wanted to hear but I suppose whatever is is. I'll give it a while longer before I start to go crazy with worry and wondering. Thanks girls!

Thanks. After reading that over I am pretty sure I know when I ovulated and it wasn't during AF. Very interesting.
