I was wondering if my 3 month old is sleeping through the night if my periods will return soon?? He just started sleeping 8-10 hours straight this past week (its been wonderful) and I'm curious if I should expect to start ovulating again soon or not? TIA!

I think it's different for each person. Usually if there is a sudden change in the breastfeeding schedule then AF will be more likely to return soon but not always. How often was he nursing at night before? My son has been sleeping through the night for a while now, although sometimes he would wake up at 3:00 or 4:00 a.m. to nurse then go back to sleep. I still haven't gotten AF back though and it's driving me batty, lol. Good luck! I hope yours comes back soon (if you want it to that is).

He usually was nursing around 2-4am and then going back to sleep for another 3-4 hrs and nursing again at 7-8am. So hes gone from nursing every 3-4 hours at night to 10 hours straight now. I am hoping it comes back soon, as we'd like to TTC #2 anytime after he's 6 months old. I haven't been using any BC since he was born, so if it happens before 6 months then thats okay too.

Tyson started sleeping through the night between 3-4 months. He went through a spurt where he could go almost 12 full hours without nursing, but somehow has regressed to 9-10 hours.LOL! He is almost 11 months old now, and my 1st AF didn't come until he was 9 1/2 months. For me, it didn't come back until I also cut out some day time nursing sessions. Like Husher said though, it's different for everyone...

Noah still has yet to sleep through the night, and he's 16 months old! Ack! Everyone I know is so different with their cycles and when AF appeared after their babies were born. I still have not had my period since Noah was born.

Asher started sleeping through the night around 2 1/2 months and sure enough AF was back about two weeks later. So it is possible. For some people it doesn't return until weaning.
