DH and I would like to start TTC but af has not returned. My son is 7 1/2 months old . I ebf for the first 6 months, then I reduced bf'ing to say 50%, then for the last 3-4 weeks I have stopped all together. My question is, when do you usually get af back afer bf? I took a hpt about 2 weeks ago and it was bfn.

Hope you don't mind my popping in here to answer you. I'm still nursing my youngest but not TTC yet.
We conceived our second son when our first was 10 1/2 months old. I never completely stopped breatfeeding him--just stopped at night and I ovulated 2 weeks after he night weaned--got my bfp two weeks after that.
With our second son, I just got my first PP af 4 days ago and he is still nursing about 5 times a day (mostly at night). However, my luteal phase was only 7 days so pregnancy couldn't happen anyway.
If you've completely weaned I'd say you should ovulate any time now. Are you showing or have you already shown signs of ovulation? If you haven't had af in the next couple weeks I'd retest.
