What do you think my chances are?

I am breastfeeding my daughter (born July '08). AF returned in January and has been regular ever since (or at least as regular as I ever get... I always have a 2-3 day difference per cycle).

Today AF is 7 days late. Have tested FMU a few times on Dollar Tree tests this week--including today--and BFN each time. No real AF signs other than extremely mild cramps. but no real pregnancy signs either.

What do you think? Should I splurge on a more expensive HPT? Or just wait for a while?

I know BFing can mess with our cycles. Can it also mess with the amount of hcg in our urine?

When my periods returned they were 30 day cycles for the first few months (more regular than before I had my DD) but then they started going longer, then shorter (basically irregular) so I would say the cramps mean it is coming so don't expect them to follow a pattern so soon!

Hmm, I would trust the pregnancy test. Breastfeeding doesn't effect HCG levels in urine. I'd say the chances are more likely that breastfeeding has screwed up your cycle. Although there is a mom in my playroom who couldn't detect pregnancy with a urine test until 6 weeks into the pregnancy. I'd probably wait another week and then test again with FRER!

It doesn't matter how regular your periods are, when you are nursing they are never set-in-stone regular.

We are in a similar situation. My DS wsa born in July 2008 and I was supposed to get AF on Monday. I have been getting BFNs all week long after I pulled what looked like a + test out of the trash (don't judge LOL) ANYWAYS, today was the 1st day I got anything even resembling a line on a FRER so I'm going to see what tomorrow brings with FMU. I would test again with a FRER and maybe give it a couple of days (if you can LOL)

I had a similar thing happen before we conceived DS. My cycles were 25 days exactly for quite a few months. Then I had a 32 day cycle! I was testing every day for a week!
It could be a number of things I guess. But if you have ovulated later this cycle, you could still be pregnant. Give it a few more days me thinks

Well there appears to be 3 of use with similar situations my son was also born in July 08 and my AF came back at the end of January and actually at the start of april my AF decided to be "late" by a week (it had been regular give or take 1-2 days) which sucked and turned out not to be because I was PG my body had its own plans I guess you could say as in get my hopes up. I would say don't waste money on a bunch of test wait another week if you can and if AF hasn't arrived then take another test.
