Unsure about the 'period' I just had...

I'm feeling a little confused. I had hardly any bleeding. 4 days is unheard of for me. And it was NEVER a steady flow, just random little spots, most of which were pink or brown. I did have a little red and I was all excited thinking that it would be the start of AF but i've had nothing since then.
What exactly is considered 'spotting' and what is considered to be a 'light flow'? Because I changed the light flow to just spotting on my chart and my temps are still up. Shouldn't they have gone down since I had AF? Or did I not have AF

I thought maybe implantation spotting so I entered a temp on CD 134 (of course I didn't temp on that day grr) just to see what would happen and I got crosshairs. BUT I read that implantation spotting is usually just brown blood and very brief also happens later than what my bleeding was. So now I just feel a little confused. Any ideas here gals?

PS Just a bit more of an idea how much bleeding, it was basically 1 panty liner a day

To me it sounds like you only had spotting which would not be considered an AF (I know not at all what you want to hear sorry) as far as I know, I would think if it had been a light flow that you would have went through more than one panty liner. Plus with your temp still rising it says to me that it wasn't an AF since normally your temp drops with AF. So my only ideas would be implantation bleeding but you said you have read that it normally doesn't last as long as your spotting did nor is it anything but brown, or my other idea is that your body is still gearing up for your first pp af.

I think it was your first PP AF. I had a light period 2 weeks ago where I only wore a tampon once (I didn't really even need it) and the rest of the days it was just a panty liner for the whole day. It lasted about 4 days though. I posted something about it in my playroom and pretty much every mom that had breastfed said their first PP AF was super light.

Oooh, thats tricky! I can't remember what my first PPAF was like at all. But I definitely think your temps would have dropped which supports it being something else? Maybe it was ovulation bleeding. Its in the right place being that its at the start of your higher temps? Or else you can actually read about 'mid-cycle' bleeding happening for no known reason. I've searched charts with that as a criteria so have seen people do have them.

As for implantation - possible of course and if so you would be able to test accurately now as implantation means the egg has attached and would be producing the HCG needed for a positive test. If its negative I'd just be under the assumption it is mid-cycle spotting. If it is AF then count forward as many days as your cycles used to be (so 28, or 30 or whatever) and see if you bleed again at the 'right time' then go back and count this bleed as your 1st PPAF.
If it IS ovulation bleeding/related then you should get a proper flow in 10-16 days.

When you are breastfeeding you need to throw the idea of "normal" out the window when it comes to periods. They can be light, heavy, medium; on time, late, normal; long, short, average... and they can switch it up at any time.
