Hey, I miss coming here so much but I'm here to say we've stopped nursing since last Tuesday (17th June). It was kind of a mad moment where I sat down and explained to her that we were stopping and she surprised me by being OK about it (although she did change her mind and have a few minor tantrums over it but not as bad as in the past so I feel it shows she is more ready now then then). Last night she didn't even ask or even look at them, although 5am seems to be the hardest one where she pulls at my top and cries whilst half asleep but a sip of cow milk gets her back to sleep. BUT she is going to bed later (8-8.30) and getting up earlier (6-7am) so its pretty tough on us all right now!

I spent a few nights feeling guilty and wondering if I should have waited just one more month but my AF had come and I am getting so sad at waiting and waiting for my cycle to correct itself.

So, we'll see what happens now! And if no change I am going to the docs next month.

DOes anyone know how long it takes for your milk to dry up?

Hi. Im Jolene. 31 years old. I suffered three years of a short luteal phase and didnt think I could get pregnant again without medical assistance but fell pregnant by accident and naturally. I am really happy and excited to be having a baby although knowing Im going it alone this time is a bit daunting and scary!

When I stopped BF my DD at 10 & 1/2 months b/c of a really low supply it took me about 2 weeks to dry up but I still would leak a little every now and then all the way up till I had DS.

I know weaning has been tough on you. But I am pretty proud of your DD She is such a trooper.

Do you co-sleep? If so you may think about putting her in her own room now since she can probably still smell your milk and that is what is waking her. I loved co-sleeping with my oldest but after I moved her to her big girl room at 18m she slept so much better and harder! Just a tought.

First off i'm sorry AF was a pain in the backside and that the prog. cream didnt work Second, you are no longer nursing! Wow how are you feeling? This is a good thing though I'm 99% sure your LP will be longer this cycle! Which means !!!! Will you still take the prog. cream this cycle or not bother?
I will DEFinately be stalking your chart now!!

Hey! Well things are going well. She doesn't ask or even look at them with interest now, morning or night! Although she is STILL staying up late with is a pain but we are sleeping better. We do co-sleep but until she goes from night until morning without waking (she has alot of dreams and cries a bit) I won't do that step just yet! lol, one thing at a time!
I actually feel fine with stopping. I think I have been ready a few months, esp as my boobs hurt so much from ov to AF, but I was trying to hang on until her birthday. I feel an excitement at my freedom (having my boobs back yay) and don't miss cuddles as we are still cuddling loads and she tells me she loves me all the time still and we snuggle and watch her fave TV cartoons in the morning.

I'm sort of glad the cream didn't work because it was sooo expensive and if I had got pregs I would have been needing twice as much throughout pregnancy. I will probably just keep it and use a little when I DO get pregs although I am dubious about if it actually does anything now. I am still taking my B6 and Vitex so hopefully that will speed up my bodies return to normal.

I know its silly thinking I might get pregs this month but I am hoping so as even before I had Dakota I wanted an April baby and getting pregs now would give me an April due date! But thats a long shot!
I'm not sure when to do my OPKs this cycle as I could ovulate earlier now? And I'm not charting (keep forgetting now I am out the habit) but I think we will just bed as possible upto CD 12 'just in case' then start my OPK's CD14...or something like that...I don't know! lol
