hi ladies im a first time mummy and a member of the november ddc (soon to be playroom!!) and had my daughter on the 10th November. i am exclusively pumping and ebm is all she is getting and i was wondering when i should expect AF to rear her ugly face lol, my pp bleeding lasted around 9-10days. DF and i would like to have our children *reasonably* close together in age, and i am hoping to NTNP from early next year.....and hopefully get pregnant in the summer. a little background info..i came off my birth control pill (which i had been taking for 4 years) and got pregnant less than 6 weeks later.
so basically when can i expect AF and what are my chances of geting a bfp whilst pumping?
Thanks in advance!
Thank you Jaidynsmommy for my gorgeous siggy.
My Daughter = My Life
Hi from a fellow November 09 PR member! My DD was born 11/19. Anyways, I exclusively BF my DS for 9 months and didn't get my first official PP AF until November, so that would have been around 6 months PP.
I got a faint BFP the end of December but believe it was a chemical pregnancy, as my LP's were never longer than 8-9 days. Then when I stopped BFing my son (due to biting issues) the end of January, I got my BFP on March 11th along with my longest LP, my DS was 10 months at the time.
Good luck! I am looking at possibly TTC #3 around this coming summer/early fall if possible. We're NTNP until then too!
I am still BFing my daughter, and got AF back last month at 9mo PP. It seems that just when AF returns depends on your body b/c I hear some women don;t get return of AF until they completely wean, whereas some see it return in the blink of an eye. I have heard that sometimes all it takes is going at least 6 hrs between feeds (ie night weaning). Good luck and congratulations on your LO!
Yes, it totally depends on your body. You may not become fertile again until you completely wean or it may happen straight away. It seems that baby starting to sleep through the night or starting solids have been 2 common factors that have preceded the return of AF for various friends of mine. I'm not sure what has been the influencing factor for me. After babies 1 and 2 AF returned right at 5 months and with my 3rd, at 7 months although I had spotting early on after he started sleeping 10 or so hours through the night at 8 weeks but he quit that after a month and has never really been a consistent sleeper since. I've always had a few wacky cycles before fertility actually returned though.
