I am currently bf'ing my toddler (13 months),and I just got my period back a couple weeks ago, after a 2 year hiatus.

I would like to ttc again soon....however, I am VERY worried about miscarrying should I become pregnant due to my bf'ing my toddler....I have been doing a lot of reading that links low progesterone while bf'ing to early miscarriage, and I have suffered a mc before (not due to bf'ing).

I am thinking I should wean before I ttc again, or get my levels checked? I was planning on bf'ing at least a few more months.....but should I become pregnant soon, I dont want to put the new pregnancy in jeopardy, especially with already having had a mc.
does anyone know if levels return to normal right after weaning (progesterone levels)
thanks

Good question, I've been wondering the same thing too. I've never had a miscarriage, but it still makes me paranoid.

I dont know about progesterone levels but in general breastfeeding while pregnant doesnt increase chances of miscarriage. It may increase the likelyness of preterm labor if that is something the mother is at risk for.

ETA: there was a member on here, who is unfortunatly not posting any more, who had a miscarriage while breastfeeding and then went on to conceive and carry to term also while breastfeeding.

I had a miscarriage while BFing my first child. It was early on, 6 weeks, and I got pregnant with my daughter the very next cycle.
