If anyone knows how to temp I need to know how do you temp if you are breastfeeding...I usually wake up about 6am every morning because Little Ernest wants to be fed then... I need to know exactly how I would temp that...Do I temp before I feed him or after?...Does it matter?
I am going to post this on the general board too, just in case...
From the bits I read about temping last time we were TTC, I would say definitely temp BEFORE feeding. Because generally you're supposed to temp before you hop out of bed and start walking around as that obviously starts to change your temp straight away and you want your resting temperature, at the same time each morning. Or even if you co-sleep, you would still want to temp first because feeding him I could only assume would also change your temp. Just my thoughts anyway!
You want to temp first thing in the morning, before you do ANYTHING! Don't even sit up in bed, just grab the thermometer off of the nightstand (or if you're like me, from under your pillow-lol) and temp. Move as little as possible. You also need to do it at the same time every day and you are supposed to get 3 hours of sleep before you temp. It's hard with a little one, but can be done.
