I went to the dentist this morning. I am now on antibiotics and need to have 2 molars removed next week. They would not touch me to remove them today until the infection clears up. I also found out that I have the beginning stages of periodontal disease which requires me to be sedated for a gum scraping. I was told my teeth are so horribly damaged that if I were to get a serious oral infection, I would not be able to fight it off unless the damage was repaired.
I was given an estimate of $8000 which includes 5 extractions, several fillings, and fittings for both upper and lower partial dentures. Needless to say, I was very upset and have been crying off and on. The only thing they gave me was a scrip for 800 mg ibuprofen but I didn't bother to fill it. I have hydrocodones left over from a prior surgery. I'm using those sparingly.
Now the hard part. Because I am at risk for serious infections, John and I discussed TTC. As of right now, we have decided it is not a good idea and with having to be sedated for so much dental work, they won't do it if I am pregnant.
I don't know if I am stepping down as co-host, I'd rather not have to. I just have no idea what to say or do right now.
Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers, I've never asked for this. I'm having a very bad day.
Oh and if I come off as a B word, you'll have to excuse me. I'm in pain. both physically and emotionally.
I'm sorry you are having a hard time. I understand what you are going through. I just had a TON of dental work done last week and a month ago too. Dental pain is a pain unlike any other. I hope they can get the work done quickly so that you can get back to TTC soon.
