Every woman has her own unique CM patterns. It should develop and change leading up to ovulation, becoming progressively wetter and eventually slippery. Then it should dry up abruptly. Creamy mucus might be one woman's most fertile mucus (but as long as she feels slippery, that's fine!), and EWCM might be another woman's most fertile CM. Some women are bone dry during the infertile parts of their cycle, other woman might have a bit of sticky or tacky mucus. Everyone is different.
