I've only been temping for a few days now but from the time I started temping and monitoring my CM, FF said that I was "probably fertile" and today it changed over to "probably not fertile". I'm wondering if anyone knows what FF uses to make the decision from one to the other?
My CM has remained the same the last two days but my temp did take a hike today. Would the temp alone cause FF to say I'm now not fertile?
Who knows. FF is notorious for being pretty ridiculous sometimes. If you haven't already, it's a good idea to read a book or take a class on charting so you know how to interpret your times of fertility yourself - then you'll know when the website is wrong, and why.
Any time you have CM present - no matter what kind it is, you are potentially fertile. You are potentially fertile while the CM is present and for 3 days after it disappears. You are infertile when there is no CM present and it's been 3 days or more since there was any.
I think the reason FF is thrown is because up until recently all you have is your CM information. Had you been temping all along it would be much more certain. FF will mark any time with fertile CM as possibly fertile and any time without it as not fertile. The same can be said for CP, OPKs, and monitors. Once you start a new cycle and can temp from day 1 it will be a lot easier for you and FF to read your charts. If you haven't already done it I would read FFs charting course. It really helped me a lot.
Thanks for the advice.. I haven't yet read TCOYF but I think I will look into buying it.
And about FF's course.. I really haven't had enough time to devote to it (Probably because I'm spending too much time on JM!!) How long did it take you to do?
FF's course is very quick and they will even e-mail it to you in a lesson a day so you just have a short e-mail to read. There are also optional quizes to make sure you understand what you read if you choose to take them. It's something you could do while waiting for TCOYF to arrive and it will help you if you choose to use both FF and TCOYF since the software is obviously different.
