Is fertility friend going to automatically create my coverline once I have enough temps, and also this morning right before I temped I needed to whisper just one word to DF - will it affect my temp that badly or no? Cause we try to do it before anything at all, right.

So could someone please let me know on that? Especially since I had a BIG jump this morning... (yes please stalk my chart!!!! - below) Thanks!!!!

I replied to your last one. When you have enough temps to give an obviosu covelrine, FF will calculate it for you. One word won't kill you, but it's best not to talka t all.

yeah girl I saw your first one, but when I replied with the second question there were not any other posts/answers after that, so that's why I reposted I was just going to research it later but I got that jump this morning, so I was like ahhhhh LOL what is going on, right. Last question I promise... when you O does your temp generally jump more than .6 like mine did this morning, or could that have possibly been it (since there is no coverline on FF yet). I really can't remember how it was last time with my loss, cause that's the last time I charted. And yeah what you said totally makes sense...and is exactly what I was thinking. DF didn't believe me that no talking is very important so I am going to show him your post here, so maybe he will work with me a little more to get accurate temps.

It'll usually get a good jump, but what is key is that it is a SUSTAINED thermal shift, not just for a few days.

ahhhhhhhh okay that makes sense, it has to be sustained, that totally helps put it together for me. Thank you!!!!!! (and here's wishing high temps for me to keep going )

To confirm a thermal shift, you need 3 temperatures which are at least .2 degrees higher than the previous 6 temperatures. The entire pattern of temps has to shift up - not just one or two high temps, know what I mean?

FF often calculates false coverlines though, so just be on guard for that. FF gets very excited about temp "dips" and gives people coverlines that really shouldn't be there, because their temps don't meet the criteria to qualify as a thermal shift. Once the true shift happens later on, then FF changes the O date.

It's best to learn to interpret your chart for yourself by taking a class, working with a charting coach, or reading a book so you know when FF is being silly.

to Shawna--she's very right! It's best not to completely depend on FF for telling you when you O, because there is a LOT of room for error.

FF is commonly referred to around here as a drunken quack because of how often it changes things and gets things wrong. Using TCOYF to learn more is a great place to start.
