I just started taking my temps and charting with the TCOYF book. And I'm thoroughly confused!!!! So the first day your temp spikes do you ovulate in the next few days or have you already ovulated? I'm feeling overwhelmed and want to chart so bad so I can understand, but just so confused. Any help would be much appreciated.

Yes and no. If you want to learn a charting system that's similar to TCOYF, you have to do it by correspondence course with phone contact with an instructor or take a live class, with chart consultation appointments in the weeks afterwards.
If you are open to learning a charting system that's a little different from TCOYF, you can do an online course with email contact with an instructor for chart reviews.

Billings and Marquette have online courses. Creighton can only be learned face to face. Northwest Family Services, the Couple to Couple League, and Family of the Americas all have correspondence courses. NWFS and CCL are the systems most similar to TCOYF.

You usually ovulate the day before the temp. spike. The temp has to stay up for several days to confirm ovulation.
