Ok so i have been using a mercury bbt for the past few months untill i eventually ordered in a digital one!! i thought it would be soooo great to finally take my temp and when it beeps read the temp, not fall asleep while waiting for the thing to work and then wake up and its lieing on my pillow!!!!

anyway i got my digi and used it the one morning.... WITH my mercury one to check the temps

mercury: 36.50
digi:36.72

what??? why???

next day

mercury: 36.55
digi:36.71

common!! did i just waste my money??? whats going on here???

so why is this happening???? i want to use my digi!!!

different thermometers can be quite different, which is why you should never switch mid cycle. just give it time and let it be your new thermometer for next cycle. the digitals are usually more accurate too

Ditto! I guarantee your new digital one is the more accurate of the two! Keep recording your mercury BBT until this cycle is over and then next cycle only use the digital.
