Anyone need to do this? I wasn't feeling my CVS therm was accurate. I'd even take my temp, then take it again (without moving or anything) and it could be off a few tenths of a point. So I bought a new one at Walgreens. Today is CD1 so I figured I'd switch to the new one.

I took my temp this morning with my old therm....97.23 (which is low for me), took it again right after...97.4 (hmmm), then took it with my new one....97.7 (which is closer to my first two cycles).

Guess I'm just wondering if anyone else had switched, and if they did, was that cycle different from the others? My first two were 28 days, O on day 18....I'm wondering if that was even accurate now?

Is your new one a BBT thermometer as well? That in itself can make a big difference in what you'll see in temps. Also, remember that your temp can rise quite quickly after you wake up which can affect the results. I switched from an ordinary digital to a digital BBT after my first cycle charting and while I did notice a difference it wouldn't have impacted my O date.

two thermometers that are the same kind can even read differently, so your best bet is to just switch completely...no comparing the temps because they are different therms. good luck with your new cycle.

Yes, they are both BBT. I won't compare them anymore, just curious since today I was making the switch. I assumed even if the first therm was off, it was probably off consistently, so my cycle trends won't change. On to cycle 3!

It could also make a difference since you were up a few minutes longer to take your temp with the new one.

Good luck!!!
