Good morning, as always, I have a question!!

It's in regards to temperature taking habits.

I was lying in bed last night trying to fall asleep.... (Today was 10 DPO ,and I could test so of course that means I couldn't fall asleep last night!) ...and I got to thinking....

What about what you wear to bed and how many blankets you use?

Our room is normally about the same temperature since we have AC, but what I wear to bed and the number of blankets I use varies often. If I'm hot, I wear less and kick the blankets off. But if I'm cold, I wear more and use all of my blankets.

If my room is the same temperature, then my body temperature is what's causing my hotness or coldness, right?

If I'm adjusting what I wear and my number of blankets to my body temperature, am I in essence messing with my temperature readings each morning?

Does this make any sense or I am I reaching? I just want to prepare myself for taking the most accurate temps possible for my next cycle.

Should I be trying to sleep in pretty much the same clothes each night with the same number of blankets?

What does everyone else do?

I have noticed that room temp plays with your BBT temps. For instance, it was really cold here the other night and we put the heat on. I woke up and I was extremely hot and my temp was higher than normal. Another night we slept with the window open and it got cold during the night and when I woke up (frozen of course) my temp was a little lower than normal.

I am new to this too. I am curious to see what the other well experience charters have to say.

Good luck

I try to wear the same amount of clothing and use the same amount of blankets all throughout a cycle, just because the less variables that change the easier it is to watch the temps and know they are as accurate as possible

That's what I was thinking of trying to do next cycle. Glad to know someone else is thinking along those lines with me. Thanks Jennifer!!

to Jen. If you're experiencing some temp fluctuation with your body, that can be a sign of hormone surges. Progesterone can definitely make you have hot flashes!

Good luck hon! When are you planning on testing?

I tested this morning with a FRER - BFN.

I'll retest again Friday and again Sunday if need be.
