Hi ladies!
My name is Marina and I've decided to start charting again. I have a son who is almost 18 months old, and while we won't be trying for a second for another year, I thought I'd start charting again to get familiar with my cycle again (and I think I might not want to wait a whole year, lol). I charted for my first two pregnancies and really found it very helpful.

My question is:
How in the heck is a mom of a child that still wakes up at night supposed to chart her temperature? I rarely get a full four straight hours of sleep at night, and when I do, it is usually at the beginning of the night, not before I wake up which is when I would normally temp. The other problem is that he doesn't wake up at predictable hours so even if I used the first four hours, the temps wouldn't be taken at the same time.

I know there are still all the other fertility signs, but temping worked really well before and I'd like to try and get it back to my chart.

any suggestions?

First off, !!!!!!!!!!!! Glad you're here!!!

I would recommend temping when you get your longest amount of sleep, and try to do it at the same time every night. I know that's easier said than done. You could also use OPKs and check your cervical mucous and position. Good luck hon!!!

Do you think that opk's, cm and position give enough to go on if I don't have accurate temps?

Good luck! We chart with the Billings system, so no need for temps at all because it just uses particular CM observations. But since you like having the temps so much, just try to take them as close to the same time and see how that goes.

I've never heard of the billings method. What is it? I really don't think that temps will work this time around, even though it worked well last time.

It's just one of the many kinds of charting out there. There are a few different forms of charting that go by cervical mucus only. They use the same sign (the mucus), but are completely different systems of evaluating it.
