Hello everyone! I have been wanting to start FAM for a while now to get to know my body better. I had my iud removed today for a leep procedure so i'm just going to leave it out. i bought the book taking chargeof your fertility and a thermometer today. any help you all can give me would be awesome. I'm also doing this while my SO is away on deployment so when he gets back i'll know my body and not be learning it when he's here lol. I have a few questions:

1: Since i had my IUD removed today would today be day 1 of my cycle or do i need to wait for my first period?

2: I used to use Mymonthlycycles.com when i was ttc my 3rd son. what site would you recommend?

and any other adivce.
Thanks in advance..

I use Fertility Friend and absolutely love it. Others here though prefer TCOYF's own software which should've come with your book. My eyes are wonky so I can't read TCOYF charts or I would actually use both just to double check things. You should count day 1 as the first day of your next period. You can start charting before then if you want, it may just not give much information. For example, if your period is due in a week and you have a normal luteal phase length then your chart won't show when you ovulated. If you haven't ovulated yet and get a few temperatures in before you do then you may still be able to get a general idea of when it happened. ShawnaCAN from NFP/FAM will be able to give you loads of information, as will the NFP/FAM board. I'm not even sure what FAM stands for so I won't comment on that! Good luck!

Welcome! I suggest using the software that came with your book, or fertilityfriend.com. CD1 is the first day of AF, so you want to mark that when it occurs! Good luck!
