I don't know what the heck is going on with my body but I cannot sleep! Yesterday I woke up at 5am.. and I was WIDE awake so I just took my temp then and got up. Well today I woke up at 2:30am and tossed and turned for over an hour... finally got up and now it's almost 4am... I'm WIDE awake (even though I only went to bed at 11!). Even if I were able to fall asleep I wouldn't get an accurate temp... this is getting to be very frusterating! I don't get it, usually I go to bed at 9 and when the alarm goes off at 6:30 I'm wishing I could go back to sleep and now... I can't seem to sleep more than a couple of hours, GRR!

If you have 3 consecutive hrs of sleep before your usual waking time, you can record your temp fine. Otherwise if it was me, I'd input the temp when I woke up and mark it so it's "inaccurate" or something, there is an option on FF to do so. Or put in the time you took it at, it should record it with an open circle to indicate the time change.

I've had this problem. Just temp after 3 hours of sleep and make sure to mark the time in FF. Have you made any changes recently or been under abnormal stress that could be affecting your sleep? You could try some sleepy time or chamomile tea before bed to help relax you.

I've been wondering the same thing! The last couple of nights I'll go to bed and sleep for a few hours and then toss and turn until I have to get up. I KNOW my temps aren't accurate, but I don't really know what to do about it. I have no clue why this is happening, I'm not under any additional stress, and both of those days were actually very productive days where I got plenty of things done at work - that I wasn't anticipating on getting done. It's confusing.

On nights that I keep doing the up/down thing I temp every time I wake up and 3+ hours have gone by. Then I just use the temp that was closest to my normal waking time. I also note the additional times just to be on the safe side.

That's just it, I haven't been getting 3 consecutive hours. So, I'm just doing the best I can, and making notes and notes and notes with my chart.

If you can't get 3 then just temp every time you wake up and right it down. You could end up with a ton of temps, but you can still pick out which one would be the most accurate. Or you could just not temp that night at all. I've done that a few times as well. If I can't sleep I just don't temp and don't stress. I have my OPKs to back up when I O and I know that odds are I won't be restless through my whole LP.
