I am wondering how badly my temps would be messed up due to being woke up before 3 hours of sleep. THis generally happens 2 to 3 times a night. Would my temps be accurate at all? I try to take it at the same time each morning but it varys as much as an hour and a half at times

They do say you should have 3 consecutive hours sleep. I can't really comment... I sleep later at weekends than I do through the week, but used to temp when I woke up rather than setting the alarm for the usual 7am. My charts were fine with this. But on a daily basis, I'm unsure. I hope someone else can offer better advice!

I would try to set your alarm for when you know you would be most likely to get 3 hours of sleep. If you're not able to get a solid 3 hours, I would just do the best you can--it's better than nothing!

Good luck!

I have the same question. I tend to wake up before my alarm goes off, but don't realize I forgot to temp until I have been laying awake for 1/2 or so. I seem to have gotten a couple mornings correct in the past few weeks, but I notice when I take my temp after I'm awake for 1/2 hour , the temps can be as much as .5 higher. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Thanks!

As I say, I'm not a good example and will probably get told off for commenting My alarm used to go at 7am on week days and I'd snooze every 10 minutes until I'd get up at 7:30. Then I'd get out of bed, walk to bathroom and THEN temp. I'm norty, I know... but hey, temping still helped me get my I have said to a lot of girls here, I 99% am convinced I would not be pregnant right now if it wasn't for charting!

I think the biggest thing with temping is consistency. I wear glasses and keep my thermometer right next to my glasses so it is an instant reminder when I wake up to temp before swinging my feet off the bed. If I do not temp before I get out of bed, I just don't temp for that day.

In your case I would temp and mark the time you took it (if not normal) so you can keep that in mind when analyzing your chart in the dreaded 2ww. You can also mark it as "Sleep Deprived" on Fertility Friend for those days that you don't get much sleep prior to temping.

On an unrelated note, last cycle I went from home to vacation in a hotel to camping outside to back home in a cycle and my temps were all over the place even though I was very consistent about doing it at the same time every morning and before I got out of 'bed' (or sleeping bag), I think that the out of body temperature also effected me, just yet another thing to keep in mind.
