Well, I had to track down the nurse today because she never called back apparently they were really "busy". Anyway, I talked to her and she called my results a "false, positive", and apparently its a negative? She said that anything UNDER a 5 is a negative, but she also said that the negatives they see are UNDER a 1. And I am at a 3. SOOO he wants me to do a repeat blood test in one week, to make sure it is under a 1.

I asked the nurse and she really didn't have any info for me, one time she said it will probably be a total negative, then another time she said it is possible that I could be pregnant. Then she emphasized "AS OF RIGHT NOW, TODAY 9-19, you are a negative."

SO, I guess I am confused. Does this mean that it is possible that I could be pregnant, that it is just too early for the blood test to tell? Hummmm...I don't understand.

Anyone have any advice as to what all this means?

I dunno. I am confused...

I say you should POAS, what do the doctors know. PLUS, she said as of 9-19 you are negative but really they drew the blood on 9-18 (right?) so really you were negative on 9-18 but you could be positive today, right?

Are they redrawing the blood one week from when they drew the blood or one week from today?

Tomorrow if my temp is above 97.80, I will POAS (was 97.92 today so I am accepting a little bit of a drop).

They are going to redraw blood one week from yesterday (the day they took the blood) so next Thursday I am supposed to go back in and get pinched, poked, etc. again.

I think I am going to POAS in the morning tomorrow. I might do the non digital test. I have 3 digital and one that isn't.

So I dunno. I don't know what to think. I am having stomach pains (not cramping, but pains), I have been gassy for quite sometime. I just don't know.

I would POAS tomorrow morning, but remember that a positive might still take several days to show up. Good luck!

I would try in the am, but if it's negative I would try again in a few days. HCG is supposed to double every 48 hours or so. If it was 3 yesterday it would be 6 tomorrow, 12 on Monday and 24 next wednesday. Some tests do pick up really small amounts of HCG, but most say they don't register until like 20. SO it is possible for you to be pregnant right now and not get a positive urine test until early next week.

ETA: This LINK will give you some more info about HCG and does show the "normal" ranges for HCG during pregnancy. 3 is at the low end but is okay during the 4th week of pregnancy so I don't think you are out yet.

That's why they want you to wait a week. HCG levels only double every 48 hours, so what Stephanie said is right--tomorrow it would be a 6, in two more days a 12, then a 24 and so on. Most urine pregnancy tests(upts) only detect HCG at 25 mIU's and up...so I'd hold off. However, I'm horrible about POAS, so do what you must!

Good luck!

I think I am going to test in the morning. The witch should be here by next Tuesday or Wednesday if I am not. SOOOOOOOOOOOOO, we shall see what happens. I will test in the AM, if it is a negative, then I will treat it as a negative, and re test on Monday. I don't think I can resist and hold off.
