I bought a box of 20 Answer OPK strips tonight and I am so lost as to when to start them? The box says the first day my period ends. Then POAS.com says to start at day on CD 10 and to use them 2 times a day to ensure that i dont miss my surge [in case it last less than 24 hours] what do you guys do? i really dont wanna waste my OPK's. HELP!

Do you already have a good idea of when you O? Day 10 sounds about right to me...that is when my doctor had me start doing the OPKs to prepare for IUI. I thought it would be a waste to start that early since I usually O on day 18 or 19, but this month I got the positive OPK on day 12! I haven't ever done them twice a day, and my doc said to do them once per day.

I had a pk of 40 internet ones so i started couple days after my period. I think it was CD7 mainly cos i wasnt sure i was O'ing to begin with so i didnt want to miss it. To start with i never got the second line (some women get a second line from the first day they start using them) but once i started getting a faint second line i tested twice a day and managed to get a positive on CD13 and according to FF O'd on CD14.

Remind me... was last cycle your first one charting? If it wasn't look through your old ones and see what CD you Od and work out your average O date. Or even the earliest.

If last cycle was your first, I'd recommend starting around CD11 or 12.
