Is there any sign of any good news on the horizon? Or do you think i should prepare for the arrival of AF?

It's a confusing one! I still think you may be less DPO than FF says, based on your CM. Good that your temp went back up tho!!

I'm not entirely convinced that you ovulated. The temps are too bouncy to confirm a good thermal shift, and unfortunately FF's catergories for mucus are too limited to allow me to evaluate the chances of ovulation based on the mucus pattern alone.

I'm wondering what might be causing the bounciness of the temps. Are you temping close to the same time every day with the same thermometer? Are you breastfeeding? Have you discontinued a hormonal contraceptive within the last year? Do you think you might be breathing with your mouth open at night?

Thanks for the reply, really appreciate any input and ways to improve.

I temp at the same time every day (6.45am) using the same thermometer. I stopped taking the contraceptive pill about 3 months ago.

I think i may well breathe with my mouth open some nights, as sometimes i wake up with a dry mouth. Is there anything i can do about that?

I know some girls temp vaginally. I've never done so, but it's meant to be far more consistent. It may be worth a go?

Recovering from the effects of the pill can affect your hormones, which can affect your temps - which are directly related to your hormones. For mouth breathing, the only solution is to consider taking your temp vaginally instead of orally. This tends to give a more consistent temp. If you do decide to switch, don't do it until you start a new cycle though. The vaginal temps are generally a little higher than the oral ones, so switching mid-cycle could make it look like a thermal shift happened when it didn't!

Thanks The BBT is the only thermometer we have in the house, so i'm not sure how DB would feel if he woke up to find me putting it up there!

I've just started a new cycle, so I'll see how the temps are this month, then i'll switch to vag if the temps are still over the place.

Is there such a thing as normal varience? Are normal temps within a 1-2 degree range until a thermal shift happens?

That sounds like a good plan. If the temps are still being wonky, you can always fall back on the information your CM gives you. It's just as accurate for confirming ovulation. No idea on the variation, sorry!
