Hi all,

I have been TTC'ing since January 2008 without any success so far. I am having very irregular cycles ranging from 30-90 days since last year. They were very regualr before, even though I have Hypothyroidism since childhood. My RE diagnosed me with Insulin resistance and put me on metformin. I take 2000mg/day since Aug 2008. Prior to starting metformin my last period was in May. After starting metformin I ovulated in 15 days and started on Sep 8' 2008. My doc suggested me to chart my temperatures. I noticed a rise in my BBT and called the office today to see if I ovulated. The nurse couldn't figure out if I ovulated or not because there was a temp drop today. Two days before she told me that I may be ovulating in the next 2-3 days because the temps are rising . The software I am using indicates that I ovulated on October 2nd. Usually when I ovulate I have severe abd. pain and cramping along with watery discharge follwed by EWCM and then completely dry until AF shows. This cycle I didnot experience any of those but I felt some EWCM for 2 days around Sep 30-Oct 2nd . Since yesterday I have watery discharge. Can some one see my chart and tell me whats going on with me.....

It looks like to me that you ovulated. I am going by your temps.

Well, it takes 3 temps higher than the previous 6 to confirm ovulation - which you have, but that shift also needs to be sustained. Today's temp kind of messes with that. It could just be a fluke low temp (from breathing with your mouth open, having a colder room last night, etc) - so your best bet is to wait until tomorrow to see what it does. The fact that the CM has not dried up yet is also suspect, it could indicate that you haven't ovulated yet and the 3 high temps on your chart are flukes. When temps and mucus don't agree, mucus always trumps temps because it's less affected by outside variables. When ovulation occurs, there should be an abrupt change from being slippery to being much less wet than that from one day to the next. If you are still having watery CM, that's not a drastic change and indicates that you did not ovulate yet.

Shawna.... I think my room temp also has effect on me because it is so cold in the north east since past few days (especially yesterday) and we didnot turn on our heating yet......So I will temp for few more days and see how it goes.....

Glad to have you here, though I'm sorry you're having troubles right now! Hope you get a break this cycle and end up pregnant!

My temp today was 97.4. I called my doc's office and was told that may be I ovulated on either 1st or 2nd which puts me on 5-6DPO. I should get my progesterone levels checked on friday.

I know its way too early for be symptomatic but since the past 2-3 days I felt very dizzy. Today morning when I woke up I felt very nauseous along with a painful cramp in my upper abdomen.....I'll test on 10 DPO and see how it goes. I hope I am not making up any symptoms psychologically and they are really really true!!!

Hi there! Going by your temps only, I would say so far you have not ovulated. Have you thought about using OPK's in addition to temping?

Hi Rose,

I used OPK's for couple of days in the beginning of my cycle....I mean around CD14 but I guess those strips were faulty (IC) as each and every strip gave me a faint line which was neither getting dark nor fading away. So I tested with water and it came out pretty dark with it. So I stopped using them. I am having very watery discharge past 2-3 days which is very unusual for me post ovulation. (TMI)Today I noticed that the watery discharge increased a lot. May be I'll BD every alternate day for couple of days more so that I wont miss this cycle(hopefully).

I hope I can figure out something soon....
